KIT LISTS

Please take a look at some suggested kit for days out on the Hill 

There is a Walking and Running list provided

Some Items are essential for a safe and enjoyable day in the mountains

I will always be carrying a group shelter and group first aid kit

RUNNING

  • Rucksack or running vest - about 10-20 litres

  • Running Shoes (Trail or Fell)

  • Waterproof jacket (with hood)

  • Waterproof overtrousers

  • Technical T-shirt (not cotton)

  • Long sleeved top ( microfleece or similar)

  • Hat and gloves

  • Watch

  • Torch (preferably a head torch)

  • Food & Drink ( enough for the day )

  • Emergency survival bag ( optional ) 

  • Whistle

  • First Aid Kit (personal)

  • Mobile phone

  • Sunhat

  • Sun cream

  • Sunglasses

  • Midge repellent & head net ( In Scotland you really want this !)

WALKING

  • Rucksack - about 30 litres

  • Waterproof Boots or walking shoes 

  • Waterproof jacket (with hood)

  • Waterproof overtrousers

  • General trekking trousers (not jeans)

  • T shirt (not cotton)

  • Long sleeved top

  • Hat and gloves

  • Spare layer e.g. fleece top

  • Compass

  • Map (waterproof or in waterproof case)

  • Watch

  • Torch (preferably a head torch)

  • Food & Drink

  • Emergency survival bag

  • Whistle

  • First Aid Kit (personal)

  • Mobile phone

  • Sunhat

  • Sun cream

  • Sunglasses

  • Midge repellent & head net
