Ben Nevis via CMD Arête

Ben Nevis via the CMD arête is a more challenging and spectacular route to the summit of the UK's highest peak.
​
For Munro baggers, you also get 2-for-1, summiting Carn Mor Dearg before taking on its arête. This long airy ridge, with wonderful views, is one of the finest grade 1 scrambles in Scotland.

Starting at the North Face carpark in Torlundy, we make our way out of the tree line. There are amazing views of the North Face of Ben Nevis as we ascend to the Carn Mor Dearg summit. We then move onto the famous arête for a thrilling scramble towards the the summit of Ben Nevis.
There are two descent options: returning to the North Face carpark via the climbers hut or down the main tourist track to the famous Ben Nevis Inn for a well earned refreshment or two.

Ring of Steall

This day out is a Highlands classic and a delight for Munro baggers. This long but rewarding route has a bit of everything: airy ridges, beautiful glens, the famous Steall Falls and the location of the Quiddich field in the Harry Potter films. You'll be spoilt for choice to pick a highlight.

Once up the first Munro of the day, Sgurr a' Mhaim, we will be treated to glorious views of Ben Nevis and the Mamores range. Next up is 'Devils Ridge': a knife edge ridge which is not technical but exposed.
We continue to Am Bodach the second Munro of the day and a careful descent to the bealach. The relief of easier ground comes towards Stob Coire a' Chairn, and then a short scrambling section leading to An Garbhanach and on to An Gearanach: the final Munro of the day.

An anti-clockwise route leaves the famous high wire bridge crossing or short wade until the end of the day.

Creag Meagaidh

This is a classic circuit around 3 Munros. The setting is the magnificent Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve along the A86 from Newtonmore.
​
Depending on the prevailing wind the route can be followed clockwise or anti-clockwise. We hike up through native woodland to gain the ridge and soon after the first summit of Carn Liath. We then stay at a high elevation, following the ridge round to gain the second peak of the day: Stob Poite a'Choire. Across the plateau, we reach the third and highest peak of the day: Creag Meagaidh.

We then descend through 'The Window', a steep path down towards Lochan Coire Ardair. We then follow the well made path through the ancient forest, back to the start.
​
There are stunning views over the Monadhliath range, out towards the Great Glen; Loch Laggan; and on clear days, the Grey Corries and Ben Nevis. Mountain hares, ptarmigan and eagles are regularly seen from the high plateau.
