ABOUT
PERPETUAL MOUNTAINS
Hi, I'm Andy Rowe, the founder of Perpetual Mountains.

After a career in construction engineering, I moved to North Wales in 2015. I met lots of passionate and motivated outdoor enthusiasts and my experiences with them, in my early time in Snowdonia, was the catalyst for a bold career change. I will be eternally grateful for their generosity, with their time, advice and the backing to just 'go for it'.

After literally hundreds of days in the hills: running and hiking, the decision to complete the Mountain Leader qualification changed my focus.

I am also a committed member of the Cairngorm Runners: my local running club. I hold the Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) certificate and also an outdoor First Aid certificate. I am fully insured to take individuals and small groups out into the hills of the UK.

I love moving through the mountains on foot. I especially love the freedom of running on trails and how this enables to me to cover bigger distances in less time. I have a decade of trail and mountain running experience, both competitively and for recreation. Highlights of my competitive running career include Lakes in a Day ultramarathon, the Welsh 1000m race, and the Ben Nevis ultramarathon.

There are just as many benefits to moving more slowly in the mountains: whether that be hiking to bag Munros, or walking to the peak of an obscure Corbett just because it's there. You have much more time to enjoy the flora, fauna and geology that Scotland has to offer.
I hope to share my passion for running and hiking in the hills of Scotland with you. I can offer all my trips as hikes or runs, depending on your preference. A detailed kit list will be at your disposal. I can provide advice on physical preparation if required.
